FAQs

Q?

What is a Reserve auction?

A.

A Reserve Auction is an auction in which there is a set minimum final or winning bid amount that must be met in order for the event to proceed. If the auction closes and the reserve is not met then the event or Hangout will not take place and any bids placed will become null and void. When a reserve amount is met or exceeded, however, all bids that meet or exceed that amount become binding and the winning bidder is obligated to make payment for his or her purchase at auction end as per the Hang With Band Terms of Use. Hang with the Band Reserve Auctions are “blind” in that no one but the seller knows what the reserve price for a given auction is. A bidder can, however identify if a reserve has been met or not by either of the two following phrases at or near the top of the event description section and/or at the auction page:

• “Reserve not met – Keep bidding!” indicates that a reserve price has been set for the listing and that bidding has not yet exceeded this price.

• “Reserve met – The Hangout is on!” – indicates that a reserve price has been set for the listing and that bidding has exceeded that reserve benchmark. The event will proceed as described provided that the bidders subsequent bids are eligible to win the auction.

Q?

Once I’ve activated my bidding account is my credit card debited every time I place a bid?

A.

No. Once your one time activation fee of $10 is accepted and approved, you will be considered a Validated Bidder and can increase your bid as often as you like up until the auction close. If you end up in a winning position at the end of the auction you will be sent a Paypal invoice for your final bid at auction close to secure your final ranking. See Terms of Use for full bidding details.

Q?

What do I do if I have a technical question?

A.

Contact Hang with The Band through email via our
contact form.

Q?

Are the Hangouts for all ages?

A.

Bidders and participants of Hang With the Band Events (Hangouts) must be at least 18 years of age. In some cases a person under the age of 18 may be able to participate in a Hangout provided that Hang With the Band.com has expressly given written permission as such and that person is accompanied by an adult who has bid for them and has also secured a spot for themselves via the bidding process. Note that If you are under the age of 21, you will be prohibited from participating in any portions of a Hangout that have age restrictions that require you be 21 or older.

Q?

Are there any refunds once I’ve paid for my spot?

A.

See Terms of Use for different cancellation scenarios and our policies for each one.

Q?

How do I know my credit card and private information is protected?

A.

We use PayPal to process our payments even if you do not have a paypal account. Your private information is protected by their SSL and VeriSign security certificates. We do not have any direct access to your PayPal account details or Credit Card information.

Q?

How will I know my current ranking?

A.

You can find your current ranking by logging in.

Q?

Why do I need to pay a $10 Auction Activation fee?

A.

Activation fee goes to help cover administrative costs of running the auction and it ensures that you are a real bidder with a valid credit card.

Q?

How does the bidding process work?

A.

Once you register with HangWithTheBand.com you will have the opportunity to activate your Bidding account with Paypal or by credit card. Once you’ve activated your account, you can bid. See Bidding Details for more information.

Q?

How will I know if I have won?

A.

Winning bidders will be notified via email and a phone call (message/text).

Q?

If I’m bidding on an auction can I lower my bid at any point?

A.

No – Each bid can only be higher than the previous one you placed.

Q?

How do I bid for two or more people for any one event?

A.

As a registered member of Hang with The Band you may bid for up to 2 spots for any
event. If you want to bid for a group larger than 2 people, then a different bidder in your group must register separately and activate an auction account. They can bid on up to two people. For example, if you had a party of 5 people that wanted to attend, we would need three registered bidders, Two of them would be registered for two participants and one registered for one participant for a total of 5. Note that each bidding party must complete their bidding commitment if they win their spots regardless of how the other parties fare in the bidding process.

Q?

Is my flight/transportation to Las Vegas (or any other city where a Hangout is scheduled) covered?

A.

No – If you win a spot in the Hangout you’re bidding on, you are responsible to get
to and from the venue city. Every Hangout is different and some may include hotel accommodations while others may not. Always check the Event Details page of the hangout you are bidding on for a full description of what’s included.

Q?

What is included?

A.

Every package is different. For event details click on the Hangout package you’re
bidding on. If you are a winner you will receive a detailed itinerary including activities, times, preparation etc.

Q?

When is my spot in the auction final?

A.

Within a few minutes after the end of the Auction cycle we will determine the
Preliminary Final Ranking. As soon as each of the participants are approved and payment is received a final list will be published. If a bidder defaults on payment they will be barred from further bidding and the spot(s) will be offered to the next highest bidder(s). This process could take as long as 48 hours so if you don’t win right off the bat, you may still have a shot. Once the Final Rankings are determined, email notifications will be sent out to the winners.

Q?

What if my method of payment doesn’t have the credit limit to cover the amount of my final bid?

A.

If your bid has exceeded your credit limit and you fall in the Preliminary Spot
Rankings at the end of the Auction, Hang with the Band may at it’s discretion offer you the opportunity to provide an alternate or additional form of payment. This must be completed and paid for within 24 hours of the auction close.

Q?

What if I can’t come due to sickness or emergencies?

A.
